Diaphragms have to move from one position to another absorbing movement as well as providing a barrier between fluids and gasses. The materials used to manufacture the diaphragm seal therefore need to be of appropriate quality. All the materials used by J-Flex in the manufacture of diaphragms conform to stringent specification to ensure optimum performance and product life.

J-Flex holds in stock a wide range of diaphragm rubber sheetings which can be used to manufacture your moulded diaphragms. We can help with the design of your rubber diaphragms as well as the manufacture and are happy to look at small, medium and large production runs to meet you particular needs.

Diaphragms manufactured by J-Flex are used in as diverse applications as automotive carburetors to gas and fluid metering equipment and the materials we recommend depend on the particular environment and the stress the diaphragm seals will need to withstand. Materials we can use include:

• Nitrile (NBR)
• Neoprene (CR) with high strength Nylon (polyamide) fabric

We also offer a wide selection of ‘special’ materials, sometimes available from stock, including the following reinforcing materials:

• Nylon
• Polyester
• Cotton
• Nomex
• Glass Fibre
